The Indian Village community came together in a big way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and support immigrant families in Detroit.
Local leaders organized Ritmos y Raíces (“Rhythms and Roots”), a lively neighborhood fiesta filled with music, food, and celebration — all benefiting the Southwest Detroit Immigrant Resource Center (SWIRC).
Thanks to the generosity of the organizers, sponsors, and guests, the event raised nearly $10,000 to help SWIRC continue providing free legal services and critical support for those most in need.
“We’re so deeply grateful for the Indian Village community’s kindness and solidarity,” said the SWIRC team. “When neighbors come together like this, it reminds us of the strength and compassion that makes Detroit such a special place.”
