70.5 volunteer hours,
$4,312.50 in legal services delivered!
That’s at least 42 different legal issues; 42 different weights, carried by people seeking help, that we help them bear — 42 different situations where we offer hope in the face of an overwhelming obstacle.
This is the most we’ve ever seen on a clinic day. Thanks, in no small part, to our talented and resourceful team of volunteers. We had around 15 people in to help throughout the day. Attorneys, legal students, translators, and researchers all take part in making the work we do for clients a possibility.
We are always looking for help and support because we always need it. Though I am proud of the work we did this week, I know that we could see just as many next week. The need is ever-present, and we are the only ones offering free legal help at this scale.
Legal work is expensive, the donations we receive mean that we can offer this service to those who have the greatest, most pressing, need and the least ability to afford it.
