Southwest Detroit is the most diverse community in our city. Newcomers from Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa find a home in this historic Detroit neighborhood–near the busiest border crossing between the U.S. and Canada. At the Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center, we are here to help refugees and help immigrants with their legal, housing and financial needs . . . one family at a time.Email subscribe CTA
Free Legal Clinics
Our three legal clinics are the front door to all of our services. All legal needs are welcome and all services provided at the clinics are free of charge.
Volunteer for Justice
The work we do at the clinics is only possible because of our dedicated volunteers. We always need help from attorneys, legal students, translators or researchers to assist our clients.
Immigration, family & divorce, housing, traffic issues, probate, unfair employment practices
We represent clients from a variety of backgrounds in court and provide a full spectrum of legal services.
If you believe you need legal representation, please come see us at one of our free clinics for a consultation.
Support our Work
We believe everyon deserves justice whether they can afford an attorney or not. We need your help to ensure that our clients’ ability to pay never determines if we can help them.
Your support is needed here.
